Stress Awareness Month

In this modern world we’re living, we have found solutions for the everyday problems that have bothered us for so many years. But the truth is that the oldest problems of humanity are still with us, and even worse than in the beginning. Stress.

Many people are overwhelmed with problems and worries. Stress is one of the primary causes of mental health problems, such as anxiety and depression, cardiac problems, insomnia, low immune system, and many others.

Due to this growing problem, every April has been held as Stress Awareness Month since 1992. In this 30-day challenge, people are encouraged to increase the awareness about the causes and solutions to stress.

It’s also helpful to incorporate exercise, rest and maintain a healthy diet to help nourish our bodies.   It’s never too late to start and if you’re looking for a way to help reduce stress this month is a great time to begin trying to live a less stressful life. Especially for those dealing with severe stress, anxiety and depression.

Should I Take a Cardiac Stress Test?

As mentioned before, stress cannot only be the cause of mental and emotional problems, but it can also provoke some serious physical conditions. One of the most affected areas by stress is our heart, and if we’re under constant stress, it’s recommended to seek professional help to check if you’ve suffered or are suffering from cardiac damage.

A cardiac stress is a recommended test, but, what is it all about? This cardiological test is made to check how the heart responds to external stress. Of course, it’s carried out in a controlled environment with a team of professionals to monitor you.

The patient is subjected to different situations, such as rest or exercise, to see the heart’s response and search for any abnormal blood flow. It also includes a check of the heart rate, oxygen level and blood pressure.

If you’ve suffered from cardiac problems and have been under stress or anxiety for a while, we encourage you to speak with your physician to prescribe you a cardiac stress test.

In conclusion a more calmed and relaxed attitude can help you counteract the consequences of stress. Here in Vital Imaging, we’re ready to help you, just dial 305.595.9992 and our staff will be able to assist scheduling your cardiac stress test.
